Beside the tidal River Parrett, in the heart of the Somerset Levels and Moors wetlands (a designated Environmentally Sensitive Area) and near to Burrow Mump, a commanding hill crowned by the ruins of the unfinished church of St Michael, lies Saltmoor House. A Georgian, Grade 2, Listed Building with 15 acres of grounds with unspoilt countryside looking towards the Quantock, Polden and Blackdown hills. Set amidst open countryside with an abundance of wildlife, yet less than 5 miles from the M5, junction 24.

The area is renowned for its picturesque historical villages and handsome churches, National Trust Houses and Gardens, Montacute and Hestercombe, being just two.

It is in an excellent position for walking and touring and within easy driving distance of Bath, Wells and Glastonbury, the Exmoor National Park and the contrasting coasts of both North and South Devon.

The centrally heated house is furnished with stylish elegance, affording comfortable surroundings, log fires and flagstone floors. It has recently been featured in several magazines and a book. The front of the house overlooks the River Parrett and to the rear there is a walled garden.

A delicious breakfast is served in the garden room with French windows onto the terrace overlooking the lawns and summerhouse. Meals can be served in the garden when weather permits. An excellent dinner is available by prior arrangement. Also, we can cater for most special diets by prior arrangement.

Ours is a non smoking house and is regrettably not suitable for children or pets.
